TOASTY BUGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so way cooler than getting a summer job...i got a car!!!! YEAAAHHHHHHH
now my brother and i don't have to worry about who drives who to work and figure out who gets the car what day and who gets to make their friends pick them up hahahhahahahahhaha

its a VW Beetle ....second hand =]....in what some people would call Gun-metal gray =D... manual of course..because that's what all the cool people drive hahha

It doesn't have a cd player..but who needs cds when you have ipods? oorrr i could be ghetto and listen to tapes...which i have let's see.... Beauty and the Beast, and little Mermaid... and i pretty sure i can find other Disney sound tracks that i bought when i was a little kid

In an effort to be responsible i'm paying for half of the car while my mom pays for the other half =] it'll take me a while..but hey...i got my own caaaarrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aaahhhh i'm so excited... (as if you couldn't tell). On the drive back from Carmax in Duarte...i was practically screaming the whole way...i opened up the sun roof and stuck my hand out for a good long while...blasted the radio...oh it was fun..so much fun!

So naming my car...haven't really decided yet..but i've had a couple of suggestions..you guys can help me vote on the options orrrr give me more suggestions =] which will be duly noted
1. Bugger <-- this came from my brother, referring to the fact that my car is a VW
Bug...except you have to say with a British accent.  So when you say it its
                actually...BUG-AH =]
2. Toasty <--coming from Tom...he said it looks like a toaster and that i should put two
black stripes on the top of my car...even though it'll only be entertaining the
                birds...and people in helicopters/airplanes
3.Toasty Bugger <--a combination of the two that i made up..because i have issues making
decisions and i liked both names..they both had an equal amount of humor going
                for them

oh another great reason for getting a Bug....i am now the cause of the ever popular "Slug-Bug" game...=] refreshing to be on the other side of the game

Borders - - Seattle's Best Cafe

Ok so in the attempt to be productive this summer I went and got a summer job at Borders cafe.
It's pretty interesting working in a cafe...lots of hot stuff..to burn yourself on....but other than that it's a lot of fun.  It was really hard for me to remember how to make all the drinks (and i still don't know all the recipes) ...i feel really sorry for anyone that had to drink the ones i made in my first week...aahahhahahah =X

ok so events of the past two weeks......

i hate rushes...people get impatient and even there's only two of us working in the cafe..they still expect their drinks to be ready two seconds after they order

oh fun...i left the wax paper we use to warm up cookies and stuff in the oven/ microwave thing and then it started making this really loud..really weird whirring sound...and the other guy and i were looking at each other like..what the heck is that sound? and we open the oven thing and the paper is black..AHAHHAHA ok that was fun almost blowing up the cafe ...

sandwhiches are really really really really hot...especially the melting cheese...ouch

swinging kitchen doors should come with danger zone warnings....

on the upside the people there are hilarious...very interesting to talk to... they're are so laid back.  Most of the management is made up off people in their 20's having worked their way up from starting as cashiers or cafe workers.

I LOVE MAKING WHIP CREAM....its like a science experiment!!!

At the end of a shift my feet are killing me but atleast i get alot of exercise running around
annnddd of course the benefits of being a borders employee make it all worthwhile

ok picture time!

here are the promised pictures from youth camp enjoy =D

This is a game called "BANG!"  We love "BANG!".  Everyone should play "BANG!".  It is such an enjoyable game that takes strategy and at the same time absolutely no strategy at all.  We love "BANG!".
hahha ok sound cultish enough? well yea we kind of got hooked on it after we decided to be lazy the first free time and sit in the a/c room instead of play sports out in the hot hot sun.  its all Daniels fault but boy do we LOVE that game

HAH...ok here's jeremy being stupid and not fun because he gets to keep the camera and be the photo man while we run around playing the mandatory game in the sun

and...jason's in the backround.... demonstrating something very odd....

umm..yes....this would be be the field where
the game that was essentially bacon in the middle..with an odd asian twist to it, was.....  there were ALOT of flies...and every time we walked around they would come buzzing out of the grass and attack us... every so often you could hear a shriek from someone because the flies came out in mass proportions. Usually it was della =]
There were a couple of girls that got so freaked out that they couldn't take it any more and ran out of the field..which i thought was pretty funny =]

ok this is david and eric miming a roller coaster because they lost their name tags...

ok this is from a skit that the counselors had to do about pastor marcus' life...it was pretty amusing

dang...ok can't upload any more pictures...stoopid xanga

YAY reach retreat!!!

Ok so REACh retreat was awesome as usual =] We had a lot of fun running around the dusty camp area and running away from bugs!

Everything at camp was either of mutant proportions or in insane numbers.  Della screamed her way through camp about half the time.  It was very rare that there wasn't a bug trying to eat, bite, or barf on us.  Despite this, it was a fabulous experience and the bugs were just a fun way to bond and make new memories with each other!

Pastor Marcus was an awesome speaker!  Coming from a Baptist church he always liked to say "AMEN?" and have us repeat words like "Horse" and "Murderer" and other seemingly random but important words.  It was all quite amusing, but more importantly it was an awesome new way to learn about God's unconditional love and mercy.

One camp down and one more to go...and still so much to do before next week!
But I know God will provide and allow us to finish all that we need to and get everything into place!

I'd post pictures..but i didn't take that many and they're all kind of boring...because they're of random moments in camp where i can't really remember what was happening...OH!!! but i will post the one where rick had to dance because he lost his name tag and one of Eric and David having to act out a roller coaster ride because they lost theirs =]
